Know How to respond to Emergencies- Just in case

 

The Baby/Child First Aid course is focused on training people who have little or no medical background to assess and manage pre-hospital emergencies in children. Our approach to training is intended to build confidence and increase your willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency, by teaching the skills you need to know in a non-stressful learning environment.

The theoretical content of the course, and the practical skills you will acquire from it, are designed to enable you to provide first aid skills that you need to give immediate care. The course represents the minimum level of training necessary to manage the casualty before more experienced help is available.

Classes are held in small groups; each course is limited to 8 persons to give you as much practice as necessary to master and retain these skills.

Course Objectives

 

Upon completing the course, you should be able to:

• Learn about the types of medical emergencies children face, and how they differ from adults

• Understand the principles of first aid and follow the same priorities of care used by medical professionals

• Initiate the primary care necessary within the first few minutes of a life-threatening emergency, and

• Be able to attend to basic emergency situations with children, and know how to prevent common injuries and illnesses in children

Course fee: €50 per parent

We recommend both parents to attend the course, if at all possible.
